The SCOCC was formed by a group of enthusiasts who are passionate about the continued preservation of the South African transport industry and its history, with special focus on historical vintage and veteran motor vehicles, motorcycles and motorized farming equipment dating back to yesteryear.
The SCOCC was established on the 3rd of June 1988 in the beautiful town of George, located in the heart of the Southern Cape Garden Route, where our members continue to have the privilege of enjoying both the best of what nature has to offer as well as our old motor vehicles, well preserved and dating from yesteryear. The SCOCC has indeed become a real representative force within the South African vintage and veteran vehicle movement. As such, the SCOCC further strives towards being recognized as a club where not only our primary club members, but also their whole family can feel at home.
In our efforts to preserve our motor and transport industry, we strive to encourage all our members and their participating family members, to collect, restore and preserve every old treasure they can find, in order for us collectively to preserve and showcase these vehicles for future generations. It therefore comes as no surprise that the annual George Midas Old Car show, taking place each February, is regarded as a highlight on most people's calendars. In addition to the Old Car Show, the SCOCC also arranges, organizes and hosts a number of additional events attended by motor vehicle enthusiasts. These events include but are not limited to; races, time trials, short and longer excursions, social gatherings as well as events that deal for example with technical talks where professionals and experts will share their knowledge and experiences with attending members, and members with each other.
So, if you own an old motor vehicle, motor cycle, motorized tractor or piece of farm equipment or are simply an enthusiast of these types of vehicles, come and join us. We would like to extend an open invitation to you and your family members to share with us our passion for all things vintage, veteran or just simply old!
